Anchored in Faith

Hebrews 6:19 — “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

I think back to when I felt like I was just floating in time. It was like being adrift and lost looking for answers. I remember it clear as day getting a phone call early one morning on December 3rd 2020. My sister had gone to be with the Lord. It was the worst day of my life. I was four months pregnant, emotional, and distraught. She had been dumped at a hospital with no identification. My entire family had no clue she was even there. A blood clot had traveled up the veins of her leg and into her heart and lungs. They tried to remove it and they couldn’t. She died on life support early that morning. An Angel of a nurse tracked down to find out who Brianna was, and then tracked down information to find my mother. She could have been Jane Doe, BUT God! I thank God she did. SEE even in the chaos God is the anchor that keeps us grounded. Even when life gets stormy FAITH is the anchor that keeps us steady.

Faith isn’t just church on Sunday, faith isn’t pretending to be free of sin, it’s not being perfect, and it’s not judging others for their previous mistakes. Faith is about trust, stability, and surrendering to God. He will find a way to keep you floating through the storm. Faith isn’t a feeling during a worship song. It’s in your actions and enduring and not losing hope. We all have to ANCHOR in obedience. Salvation and peace is in Jesus Christ our savior who saved me from grief, and hurting when I lost my only sister. I had faith that God had her, and I have her daughter here on earth. Gods promise was that.

It’s better to be deeply anchored in one spot than scattered across the sea. You don’t have to have it all together. God honors the smallest steps towards to him, and even if you’re like me running to him with arms wide open. Anchored faith is built in trust, and surrendering over those heavy feelings you use to carry. When the storm lifts, and the sun starts to shine on a beautiful day again. All you can do is give him the glory, because you already knew he could do it. His promise is all you need.

Isaiah 33:6 — “He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.”

I love you all,

Corey
