3 Scriptures for Tired Moms

Okay, let’s not pretend we have it all together. I know you have laundry in a basket somewhere that needs to be folded. There is probably a dishwasher full of dishes that needs to be emptied. I’m also sure there is something off your grocery list you forgot to pick up at the store this week..

BUT, girl we are tired! It’s OKAY! It happens. Im going to be completely honest here.. I’m one cold coffee away from falling over and taking a nap.

I don’t care what the matriarchs of your family say, I don’t care what that one Instagram perfect mom says, and I don’t care what celebrities with 10 nanny’s say.

This stuff is not easy. ITS OKAY. Your children will never be this young again. You will never be as young as you are right now. Stop being a Martha and open your Bible. Just take a rest in Jesus.

Here are three scriptures for you awesome {TIRED} mommas!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Mathew 11:28-30

Are you tired? Rest in Jesus. It will be the best decision you’ve made all week. Just follow him. He will comfort you and give you strength. I do want to take a second and talk about the yoke. A yoke is a wooden beam used to connect two large farm animals in order to pull something heavy or to plow something. Sometimes it’s used to represent a heavy burden. What burden are you carrying around on your shoulders this week? Put it down. Lay it down. Give it to God. He is ready to take it from you.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in      every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

I’m learning the older I get that anxiety is completely healed by prayer. Peace comes from walking with Jesus. Also, from guarding our hearts and minds. The enemy will use tools of comparison, hurtful words, vessels to do his work, warfare, etc. All of it. I rebuke it. I have figured out how to pass his tests. I will no longer fail the opposition from him. We gotta guard our hearts and rest in God. Trust me it’s easier said than done, but it can be DONE.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16

We are tired, but we are called. Called to be mothers to Gods children. A gift that not everyone is fortunate to have, or can grasp to understand how important it is to be mother. Our floors might be covered in Legos and goldfish, but it’s okay. Gods grace is enough. Let it be enough, be renewed in him. He made us perfectly imperfect.

Love,

Corey
