Gods Girl ☀️

So you’re not a Girl’s girl?

We all know them. I could go on and on about women that aren’t for other women. We all could name this person, and we recognize it easily in someone we just met. Through their passive aggressive conversations, judging other women harshly, hurtful comments, intentional exclusivity, conflict motivator, gossip spreading, and disrupting peace.

Whew. It’s exhausting and draining indirectly engaging with these behaviors. Now, what’s a girl’s girl? Women that cheer for each other even if they don’t know them well. It means you’re encouraging and supportive of other women. You’re only competing against yourself and what you did yesterday. Being your own personal best with no comparison. In a way it aligns with being God’s girl.

All of these things can be found in scripture. Loving your neighbor. Having courage to stand in Christ, and trust in God. Knowing God love for you, and that’s Jesus died on the cross for you. Every Christian knows that comparison is the thief of…JOY. It’s knowing that guarding your heart from others can lead to peace, and staying focused on Gods path for your life. Being a girls girl also means being Gods Girl!

I’ve had to learn this the hard way. Through relationships, friendships, and acquaintances. In years past I have been naive, because I have a genuine love for people. I have good intentions all the time, and I use to give my heart to people I thought shared those same beliefs. I’ve learned that you can still be Gods Girl, and guard your heart.

Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it,”

It’s TRUE it’s what makes us who we are, and not everyone needs to have an influence on you. Not everyone has the spiritual maturity or the discipline of discernment to exercise. It took me 30 years to learn this! So you’re not a girls girl? Are you Gods Girl? Put him first and be vigilant of your actions, habits, and words. Most importantly guard your heart with your personal convictions in Christ.

Love,

Corey
